Cleanings & Gum Disease Treatment
Our skilled and experienced hygienist provides thorough, gentle cleanings. She will spend about an hour with you so she can give you the attention necessary to do a great job. She uses traditional, conservative methods, as well as an ultrasonic scaler, to gently and comfortably clean away any stains and hard deposits on your teeth.
She will also use dental models to help educate you on good oral care at home, which is the key to maintaining optimum oral health.
Gum Disease Treatment
We effectively treat mild to moderate gum disease. Our hygienist uses gentle deep cleaning to remove bacteria and hardened plaque. If needed for a stubborn infection, she will apply Arestin®, a localized time-release antibiotic therapy that reduces the amount of bacteria present. Our goal is to get your gums back to good health as fast as possible, and to show you how to keep them healthy.
If your gum disease is severe, we will refer you to our periodontist (gum disease specialist).
Dr. Choi provides well-fitting, durable, natural-looking dental crowns. He uses an excellent lab with over 30 years of experience, and creates beautiful crowns using the highest quality materials. If an implant turns out to be the best option, Dr. Choi can provide a top-quality implant-supported crown—he has 20 years of experience placing implants and implant-supported replacement teeth.
Dr. Choi always tries to save teeth whenever possible, but there are situations in which the patient is better off with an extraction. Dr. Choi has a very gentle touch and uses special instruments to extract teeth in a manner that causes the least amount of damage to the surrounding tissues. When Dr. Choi extracts a tooth, he preserves as much bone around the tooth as possible. This helps make a healthier environment for replacing the tooth in the future.
One-Visit Root Canal Therapy
Dr. Choi performs gentle root canal therapy, usually in one visit. He explains the procedure step by step and ensures patient comfort at all times.
Dr. Choi can evaluate if you need a root canal and if it requires specialist care or it can be done in his office. He partners with excellent endodontists for advanced root canal treatment.
Comfort & Sedation
Dr. Choi prides himself on being very gentle in all of his procedures. He explains all procedures so that you will know what to expect, and the friendly staff will provide blankets and pillows to make you more comfortable in the dental chair.
Dr. Choi is licensed by the State of California to provide oral sedation. He offers this for anxious patients and for patients receiving multiple procedures in one visit. This helps patients relax, so they can comfortably receive their treatment.
For one or more teeth missing in a row, Dr. Choi may recommend a dental bridge. He has extensive experience creating high-quality dental bridges, and he uses an excellent lab and top-quality materials for the best results.
If the teeth adjacent to your missing tooth or teeth are in good shape, Dr. Choi may recommend a dental implant instead of a bridge. Bridges require the grinding down of adjacent, healthy teeth, and this can be avoided with implants.
